Audio/Visions? Contemporary hybrid forms of music and the moving image Saturday, 27th October 2007, 5.30–7.00 p.m.
Large Hall

The synthesis of image and sound has been a long-cherished dream. It is well known that powerful computers – the so-called universal machinery of production based on a uniform code – today have all it takes to make this dream come true. This creates new potential for the interaction of acoustic and visual arts. But how does the partnership of sound and the moving image actually look today? What are the emergent trends in a context characterised by commercialised audiovisual practice? These questions will be debated by at panel and also put to the test live throughout the Festival.

Participiants at the panel are Dr. Cornelia Lund and Dr. Holger Lund, fluctuating images e.V., Stuttgart; Dr. habil. Beate Ochsner, University of Mannheim; Mikomikona (Birgit Schneider, Andreas Eberlein), musicians/artists, Berlin; Chaired by: Michael Harenberg, Director of the Music and Media Arts study course at the HDK Berne.
