Dream Machine, generative installation, 2007

Like a dream, the internet can be understood as an associative machine. It may be precisely due to this analogy that people exchange their dreams on the internet. Beat Brogle's installation deals with the interaction of various associative systems, the publication of individual dreams, the automatic word-image associations by the search engines, as well as the associations made by the spectators. Dream Machine constitutes a new realm of experience, which is both outer and inner, both individual and collective.
