For Jorge Castro (1967, Córdoba), an artist who’s worked since 1996 under the alias Fisternni, real-time processing of sound and image is a major preoccupation. Point of departure for his latest conceptual project San R]~ was to collect audio material from the San Roque reservoir near Córdoba, into whose miry depths countless opponents of the military dictatorship in Argentina disappeared (1976–1983). Castro dives deep into historical memories, using digital processes to give form to hidden structures of sound and visual worlds.
