El piano de trapo, José Navarro’s means of investigating a computer’s potential, creates a very particular relationship between the musician, the music and the computer. He plays on a light table with seven coloured objects, thereby controlling his generative composition programme. Endless variations can hence emerge from nine composed musical elements.
