Cornelia Sollfrank – Image Rights: between the market economy and a knowledge-based society
Friday 3.00-3.45 p.m., Small Hall

Artist Cornelia Sollfrank has for some years been addressing how an artist’s work might be used or appropriated by others to various artistic ends. In her most recent work “MuseumShop”, Sollfrank is concerned with image copyright of artwork on public grounds; an area where numerous interests clash: those of the photographer who shoots an image, the artist whose work is depicted, the museum that owns the depicted work and the picture agency that markets the photographs. Key question of the work is to find out who profits most from the increasing marketisation of the art world.
