Special 2
Schaulager-Screens
Thursday to Sunday 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., Schaulager front, Ruchfeldstr. 19
The Schaulager has been a trendsetting arts institution at the Dreispitz site since 2003. Shift and Schaulager jointly invited artists to use the LED screens installed on Schaulager’s exterior as a platform for video contributions during the festival. Artists were requested to either adapt existing two-channel works for screening on the LED displays or to create new, site-specific projects. Edith Flückiger, Shaun Gladwell, Bettina Grossenbacher, Mark Lewis and Margot Zanni took up the challenge of experimenting with this unique situation comprising two large-format screens. The LED displays measure 6 x 8 m respectively and are incorporated in the facade of the Schaulager (architects: Herzog & de Meuron) at a distance from one another of approx. 30 m.
