Headphone Concerts
The Headphone Concerts are a
platform for experiments, for amusing,
exciting, weird and droning musical
interventions. Music is transmitted live
to your ears via headphones rather than
via loudspeakers. The Headphone
Concerts programme was compiled by
the Interdisco and Everestrecords labels.

Friday, 24.10. 2008, Small Hall
Interdisco is a Baselbased
net
label that has been releasing selected
electronic music – headphone to
dancefl
oor from international musicians
– on the Internet since 2003.
On Friday evening, the label will present
two associate projects bloom und
b°tong, whose ambient thru’ dronelike
music is largely based on processing
their own and found sounds. The label
crew will also personally appear
live as The Interdisco Livesquad with
a project specially developed for
this year’s Shift theme; one that plans
to hand the mike over to the audience
for a little live interaction.

Founded in 1999 in Berne by Matu
Hügli and Mich Meienberg, Everestrecords
has inscribed itself in the wide
fi eld of electronic music. The heavy weights
in the programme are experimental
electronica, electroacoustic
and IDM. Yet the label’s regular homeproduced
releases reveal how open
Everest records is for a whole range of
different sounds, from gloomy
drones thru to electroacoustic
playarounds
and cutups,
and danceable
break beats.
